EXCEPTIONAL, BEAUTIFUL, COMFORTABLE
One of the best things about Château de Janville is the moment it appears from the road through the French countryside. There were genuine whoops of excitement and astonishment. Having seen all the pictures we knew what we were looking out for but to see it appear between the hedges of the garden in real life is exhilarating.
Our party of three families had a wonderful time. We were warmly greeted and shown around by Marie, who introduced us to all the special touches around the place. The Château is stunningly beautiful, a fine mix of old grandeur and modern style. The kitchen is phenomenal, incredibly user friendly for a big group and well stocked for everything you could need. The living areas are spacious and welcoming. The gardens are spectacular. The rooms are very comfortable. The bathrooms are fine - although for people who are very sensitive about their privacy it is useful to know that there are limits to what the plumbing can process in the en-suite toilets so sometimes it is necessary to use the communal toilets on each floor.
It is a lovely area to explore and Marie assisted in us hiring bikes which were delivered to the Château. The local beaches and towns were very close but it was difficult to leave the perfection of the Château, the gardens and the swimming pools!
We really enjoyed our meals with the fabulous Didier, who as well as being an expert chef is very accommodating - thoughtful and relaxed about people pottering into the kitchen for something while he is preparing a delicious meal. Also it was relaxing to have the flexibility to have everything prepared with instructions to warm up when we are ready so we could eat later in our own time.
All our families agreed how lucky we were to spend a special week at Janville and everyone wanted to come back another time.

We had a fabulous stay at Château de Janville. We had heard that it is considered to be one of the most beautiful Château in all of Normandy and after our stay I think we would have to agree that in addition to being beautiful, it is also a warm, comfortable and charming property. For us, the highlights were the interesting history of the property, the exceptional decor, well situated near the coast, beautiful gardens and the swimming pools! Our daily swim in the 75’ foot lap pool was the perfect follow-up after hiking the coast line. As we also enjoy cooking we found the gourmet kitchen fabulous to cook in and we liked the option of 3 different dinning areas to chose from. A beautifully appointed, cozy and comfortable home that is well situated in Normandy. The perfect choice for our family gathering. Highly recommended!

Our stay was perfect!
Marie is the greatest host you can imagine and her château is incredible. Everything
was perfect! The cook, the pool, the garden, the entire château is is very beautiful
and we enjoyed the stay very much!
